Windows 2008 – Monitoring server via snmp

• install new feature “SNMP Services”

 

• go to start-administrative tools- services

•  open SNMP Service for editing

• Â

 

• go to “Agent” tab and fill in fields Contact, Location and choose what do you want to monitor,you can choose:

Physical

Applications

Datalink and subnetwork

Internet

End-to-end

 

• 

 

•  go to “Security” tab and set community name and configure hosts which are allowed to pool data(do not set”from any”)

•  go to “Traps” tab and configure traps settings(community and trap server)
