Windows 2008 – FTP Server ( IIS6 ) behind the nat

Assumption;

Nat router already configured,that is all traffic is natted to our FTP server.

 

When our FTP server has local IP, to allow FTP passive mode we have to add range of passive ports to our metabase.

To do this we have to do following steps:

• Install IIS6 scripting tools

• stop IIS services
• modify IIS6 Metabase using script

• start IIS6 service
• add rule to firewall on Windows2008 to allow incoming traffic on ports 5500-5525
• test connectivity using passive mode
